Who we are

AssessWrite AI was built from the classroom out.

It’s designed by an experienced teacher and school leader with a specialist background in writing assessment, moderation and curriculum leadership. The platform is grounded in real classroom practice, informed by leadership-level decision making, and shaped directly by the challenges schools face when assessing writing accurately and consistently.

AssessWrite AI supports both schools and individual teachers, whether that’s whole-school benchmarking, moderation across classes, or targeted assessment for a smaller number of pupils. The aim is the same in every setting: to reduce workload while improving the quality, clarity and usefulness of writing assessment.

The platform has been developed and refined through live school pilots, with feedback from teachers and leaders helping shape its evolution. As it continues to grow, AssessWrite AI remains focused on being practical, evidence-informed and genuinely useful not generic, and not detached from the realities of the classroom.

AssessWrite AI can also support tutors, home educators and parents who want clearer insight into a child’s writing and practical guidance on how to help them improve. By breaking writing down into meaningful strengths and next steps, it helps non-specialists support progress with confidence, without needing formal training in assessment or moderation.
