1. About Us

AssessWrite AI is an online assessment support tool designed to analyse handwritten pupil writing samples and generate curriculum-aligned insights, feedback and summaries for educational purposes.

In these Terms:

  • “We”, “us”, “our” refers to AssessWrite AI

  • “You”, “user” refers to the individual subscribing to or using the service

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AssessWrite AI, including through a free trial or paid subscription, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

3. Who the Service Is For

AssessWrite AI is intended for:

  • Teachers

  • School leaders

  • Tutors

  • Education professionals

  • Parents or home educators (where applicable)

All accounts are single-user licences unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Accounts and Access

  • Accounts are created using an email address and name.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.

  • You must not share your account or allow others to use it.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

5. Free Trials

  • Free trials provide limited access and sample usage.

  • No payment details are required for a free trial.

  • We may change or withdraw free trial offers at any time.

  • Free trial access does not guarantee continued availability of features.

6. Subscriptions and Payment

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected.

  • Annual subscriptions are billed upfront for 12 months.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

You can cancel at any time via your account or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future billing but does not trigger refunds for time already paid.

7.Cancellation and Data Retention

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account or by contacting us. Cancellation will stop future billing but will not automatically delete your data.

When a subscription ends:

  • Your account will be downgraded or closed, depending on your plan.

  • Access to AssessWrite AI features will end at the conclusion of the paid period.

  • Uploaded data, including student writing samples and related outputs, will be retained until the end of the current academic year unless you request earlier deletion.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion:

  • All uploaded student work and generated outputs will be permanently removed from our systems.

  • This action cannot be undone.

We may retain limited account and billing records where required for legal, accounting, or regulatory purposes.

8. Refunds

  • Refunds are not provided for partial subscription periods.

  • If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us and we will review the issue.

9. Use of the Service

You agree to:

  • Use the service only for lawful educational purposes

  • Upload only content you have the right to use

  • Ensure pupil work is shared in accordance with your school or organisation’s data protection policies

You must not:

  • Upload offensive, unlawful or inappropriate content

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or misuse the platform

  • Use the service to replace professional teacher judgement

10. Educational Disclaimer

AssessWrite AI provides supportive analysis, not formal grading.

  • All outputs are intended to assist professional judgement.

  • Final assessment decisions remain the responsibility of the teacher or school.

  • We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness or outcomes.

11. Intellectual Property

  • All software, content, branding and outputs generated by AssessWrite AI remain our intellectual property.

  • You may use generated outputs for your own educational purposes.

  • You must not resell, redistribute or publish outputs commercially without permission.

12. Availability and Changes

  • We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

  • Features, pricing and plans may change over time.

  • We may update these Terms occasionally; continued use constitutes acceptance.

13.Inactive Accounts

If an account remains inactive or unsubscribed:

  • Personal data and uploaded content will be retained only in line with our Data Retention Schedule.

  • At the end of the academic year, student data will be securely deleted unless a lawful reason exists to retain it (for example, an ongoing support request).

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses

  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on generated outputs

  • Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid by you in the previous 12 months

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
